Summer Shenanigans: Coffee, Canal Boats & Cate’s 102nd!
Added on 02/10/25
Thanks to the organisational skills of our Wardens Adeline and Michael, with invaluable help from Sue, this Summer has been unforgettable at the Bedford, Morison and Cordery Almshouses in Watford!
This summer has seen an unprecedented number of social events to satisfy all tastes, and we couldn’t be more grateful to Adeline, Michael, and Sue for making it all happen.
From our beloved coffee mornings to exciting new gatherings, residents have enjoyed:
- Film evenings in Number 19
- A grand garden party in June
- An evening barbecue in late July
- A canal boat trip in August
One of the most heartwarming moments was celebrating Cate’s 102nd birthday in August, with 25 guests including family, friends, and Trustees. Vice Chair of Trustees Dr Nigel Ineson presented Cate with a beautiful bouquet of flowers to mark the occasion.
And to round off the season in style, a coach outing to Southend-On-Sea is planned for October, bringing summer to a joyful close.
Captured Moments some of the highlights from recent events are shared in the photos. We hope they bring a smile!
