February Coffee Morning - Information SessionAt the Bedford, Morison and Cordery Almshouse coffee morning in February 2024 the residents were given information on the benefits and use of the Careline units and defibrillator. We had a friendly representative from Careline who came and gave us a Q & A session. Residents received comprehensive information on using these life-saving tools at this coffee morning.
The Bedford, Morison and Cordery Almshouse Trustees prioritise resident safety and well-being. In order to ensure that residents can summon assistance promptly should they experience a fall or other disabling episode, the Trustees offer two key resources:
•
Personal Alarm Systems (Careline): Residents wear a small pendant or wristband with a button to instantly connect to 24/7 Careline team, ensuring prompt help in case of falls or emergencies.
•
Defibrillator: This portable device is available on-site for immediate use in case of a heart attack, potentially saving lives.
These resources empower residents to live independently with peace of mind, knowing help is just a button press away.
Supporting independence and providing peace of mindThe Careline personal alarm gives Almshouse residents the freedom to live independently in their homes.
The Careline Pendant Alarm offers:• 24/7 emergency support: Press the button for immediate help.
• Lightweight & wearable: Comfortable on wrist or neck.
• Wide coverage: Works inside and up to 100m in the garden.
• Smoke detection: Connects to an optional smoke detector for automatic alerts.
Defibrillator at the AlmshousesA defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. The Trustees have had a defibrillator installed on site (outside number 19); this portable equipment can significantly improve the chances of surviving a heart attack if used promptly following collapse.
